/01/ Lavender Candle

When the world won’t quiet down, you light something that will.
The room wasn’t noisy, but your mind was.
Lists, replies, little things left unsaid. You didn’t need answers. You needed space. Breath. Maybe a moment where everything, just for once, didn’t need your attention.
So you lit the candle.
The scent was soft and still. A touch herbal, a little floral, like linen dried in the sun beside a lavender field. And slowly, the noise receded.
